We are getting close to Wedding Season, which means here come the future Haley's. We were doing great on the wedding planning and had most of it done, now it has slowly plateaued because we have been busy with everything else, but here are the recent updates thus far:

* My dress came in! (but it doesn't fit) Which is good motivation because swimsuit season is just around the corner.
* Honeymoon is planned and checked off the list (can't wait to blog about our surfing lessons we signed up for).
*Found Byron's ring, it's the same medal as mine. We love this idea, because now both are fairly unique.

In terms of us being busy with everything else, we are enjoying the spring in Seattle and all the fun that comes along with it:

Seattle Restaurant Week, amazing food!

Citizen Cope Concert- I was officially the number one fan. About 12 of us went to this together and had a blast. I made Jill, a girlfriend of mine stay up at the front of stage the entire time and said no bathroom breaks because we did not want to lose our spots. By the end, I thought she was going to kill me.

We attended our 4th Wedding so far this year; Byron and I are officially the electric slide and cupid shuffle masters. Make no mistake, if you are attending our wedding you can become a cupid shuffle master as well!

Erik's Birthday (Byron's groomsmen). This night started out at the Frontier Room for some pulled pork sandwiches. At the peak of the night we had taken over Cellars with all of Erik's friends.

Florida

Our Florida trip was a couple of weeks ago, but taking a few weeks to post something seems to be how our blog is working right now any way. This was our second trip to Florida for a wedding this year...just the beginning of a very full and fun year of weddings. Sandi (Byron's cousin) and Shawn had a beautiful wedding in Boca Raton, FL. Our family stayed at the Boca Raton Beach Club Resort which we highly recommend. It is tough to pick out the best highlights from a trip full of fun, but a few that standout are: warm weather and a beach in March, taking shots with Aunt Becky, a limo ride to the airport, and Byron's Dad showing us he can hang on the dance floor.

We have decided that Byron should no longer be invited to events in Florida if you want it to be nice weather. Quick history of Byron's trips:

- 2007 Superbowl in Miami: Hurricane like conditions, or at least it seemed that way
- 2010 Wedding in Key West: Coldest weather in 30 years with sideways rain
- 2010 Wedding in Boca Raton: Torrential downpour on the day of the "beach" wedding.

Fortunately the next day for the family BBQ it was sunny :)

Procrastination

Friends and family-next time you see us, tell me to put out my hand because I deserve to have it slapped. I cannot believe we are in February and I had Christmas decor still on our blog, so embarrassing, it is was like leaving Christmas lights on your house two months too late, but with the blog the whole world can see it not just the neighbors.

The key highlights from the last couple of months were the Engagement Party, the ski trip to Crystal Mountain, and Florida.

Engagement Party:
Alexis and Lucy two of my bridesmaids put on a wonderful engagement party for us. Byron's parents came up from Olympia and met the wedding party and we all toasted to the celebration of our soon to be wedding ( a little over 6 months). Thank you to all our friends and family who came and to Lucy and Alexis for a great night.

Crystal:

One of Byron good friends from College did an amazing job of getting everyone together for a weekend at Crystal. There were 11 of us that stayed in one cabin at the top of the mountain, we drew the short straws and stayed on the bunk-beds. It actually ended up being pretty fun because we all giggled for about 30 mins like we were little kids before we fell asleep. The skiing part is a whole different story.

For some reason, I put his boots on thinking they were mine, needless to say I fell down the entire hill and completely bruised my pride. I now have a whole new appreciation for Byron and his friends skiing.

For Adam Grant's birthday the Lake Tapps boys ( Byron, Fehr, Grant) went on their "man nature walk" during the night. Which really meant playing on the chair lift, sliding down the mountain, and trying to scare everyone else in the cabin.

Florida
Our very good friends were married in Florida and Byron was in the wedding. However, I was more nervous for everything then he was..... I did the brides make-up. Shocking she took me up on the offer as I am always the one who goes just a little too far when it comes to the blush or eye make-up. However, she looked great and it was a gorgeous ceremony in Key West. The best part was hanging out with everyone, especially the wedding party.

ENGAGED!

We are officially engaged! Byron did such a wonderful job of planning and I could not believe how perfect everything was. We started the night attending Zoo Lights with the Haley family. Byron's mother-Bobbe, sister-Jana, and I had no idea that he was planning on proposing that night. Jim, Byron's father and him constructed the sign two weeks before with over a thousand lights and set it up at the zoo two days before the big night. Some of our closest friends were there to support, celebrate, and of course they had to turn on the sign......
We walked around the zoo for about a hour looking at all the lights. After walking down a hill and taking a picture in front of my favorite tree he got on ONE KNEE and POPPED the QUESTION. Then came the "highest pitched" voice you will ever hear. In the background was playing "At Last" one of my favorite songs. Hope you enjoy the below video and pictures.

Fa.... la' la' la' la' la' la' la la'

We went on our bi-weekly "date night" to the Nutcracker. For some reason Byron nor I remembered the story. During intermission, we both looked at each other smiling saying, "What is going on." We then spent the next 10 minutes reading the story and just started laughing because we knew the plot all along, but we were just trying to read into the storyline and find some hidden meaning. Why was it so much easier as kids to understand the nutcracker?

Christmas Party

I think Byron may kill me for uploading this, but it is too cute and too funny not to. Lucy, one of our best friends celebrated her birthday and in true Lucy fashion thought it would be fun to do a Tacky Christmas Sweater Party. I of course thought this was a great idea, but there was one small glitch when the night went down....... Byron and Lucy were the only ones wearing the sweaters. Below is a picture of Byron with his Christmas sweater (his grandmother gave him when he was in college) with Lucy's wrapped around him. He kept laughing and saying," Am I embarrassing you"? Well, here is my formal payback for being embarrassed all that night! Friends and family, please enjoy.

Tis' The Season

We finished decorating Sunday night and somehow we pulled our decorations together and made it work. I taught Byron the proper way to string lights and after two trips to the store, 6 boxes of lights, and 2 hours later he was done stringing them on our 6 foot tree. I made the comment, that it is always worse taking them off and Byron just gave the calm shhhh....... I almost electrocuted myself trying to hang ornaments from a light fixture. Pottery Barn forgot to mention the turning off the light part, Byron almost had a heart attack, but he let me complete my project!

We also included a picture of the newly painted red table. Literally, we had blood, sweat, and tears over this thing, but it is finally done and we love it!

Arizona and Baby Lina

Byron and I flew down to visit my sister Sarah, her husband Brian and the newest addition to the family-Lina. We decided to take Lina to her first movie, New Moon at the drive-in. It wasn't too cold for November....

Huskies Season

Byron is teaching me all the huskies cheers and for some reason it is becoming cool to bark like a dog. If we are not attending the games, we are watching them on our living room couch. Well....... Byron is watching them and I have found it is the perfect time to take my Saturday nap! Since it has been such a nail biter of a season and the games are usually close I get to see a different side of Byron----- "Squealing like a little school girl"

Painting

With both of our lives being so busy and changing everyday we thought a blog site with pictures and stories would help keep up with what we are up to.

We are gearing up for fall and working on projects in the condo, the newest is painting. Byron is doing such a great job and is being a good sport with getting rid of the red and yellow walls.
The condo is now painted with earth tones, but I painted our coffee table bright red for Byron. However this took me weeks to talk him into, but now he loves it and it looks great in our living room.
